"NO OBA-ELECT YET IN IDIMU" - OTUNBA AGORO
The leading contender to the revered stool of Idimu Kingdom, Otunba Usman Agoro, has called on the good people of the Kingdom to disregard the News flying around that one Noah Surakat has been chosen as the next King of Idimu.
Usman Agoro
Agoro stated, "My attention was called to a congratulatory message flying around as regards the vacant stool of Idimu Kingdom after the demise of our King. Everywhere in Yorubaland, the tradition seems to be the same, where different candidates and families who are entitled, present their heir apparent. Idimu Kingdom is not different."
"But the amazement is, someone named "Alhaji Enilolobo", due to his political network, had lobbied some government officials to impose Noah Surakat, being his boy, on the good people of Idimu. As for me, this is nothing, but an absolute ridicule on our respected cultural institution in Idimu. The stool of Idimu should not be politicised nor be made to compensate political allies at the detriment and interest of the people of Idimu."
Noah Surakat
"We would not take laws into our hands, but will fight this within all available legal means to ensure this broad daylight robbery does not stand. No Oba-Elect yet in Idimu. There are processes to elect an Oba which must be followed. Four families have presented their candidates, but Enilolobo, through some government officials, shut the doors of participation to the other three and skewed the process to favour Surakat. What do we call this?"
"I call on the great sons and daughters of Idimu Kingdom to come out and fight this injustice. Idimu a gbewa ó.", he said.
